Light salmon pink in colour . This is quite fruit driven on the nose with strawberries and light floral notes, quite simple but fresh and lively . On the palate this is creamy in texture with fresh , ripe strawberries and raspberries, orange rind , balanced acidity and alright length . Quite simple but well made and food friendly . Medium garnet , medium wide terracotta rim . Quite deep and darker spiced fruits , some floral and mineral iron filling hints . On the palate this shows more structure and deeper darker fruits than the 2007 , spiced cherry , mineral and long on the palate , dark tea and anis tinged . Quite gritty tannin , more robust and serious . Balanced fresh acidity . Still pretty young , more structured . This could do with a little more time , and will continue well a further 10 -12 years or so. — 12 days ago

Garnet core , medium wide terracotta rim. Slightly balsamic sous bois , spiced red cherry , porcini , touch of menthol. On the palate this has good density , red cherry, porcini , good mineral tinged finish. Quite high acidity and slightly gritty tannin . Still showing very well , probably at peak drinking now . Quite deep ruby , narrow ruby rim. Deep and more concentrated on the nose , with dark cassis , ripe summer fruits , dark cherry , grafite , oyster shell notes. On the palate this is quite rich and decadent , cassis , ripe blackberry , blueberry a, dark cherry . Sweet but ample tannin , balanced acidity , quite rich but well balanced , good blackcurrant, grafite tinged , length . This is showing well but will continue to do so over the next 10-15 years , perhaps longer . — 23 days ago

Medium garnet , medium garnet rim . Aromatic , and slightly funky nose , with herbal, cedar , sous bois , truffle . On the palate this is slightly strict , quite high acidity , slightly gritty tannin , mix of red and dark fruits , herbal tinges , tobacco and earthy finish . Quite linear and elegant . Perhaps slightly rustic , not particularly ambitious but classic ‘gentleman’s club’ claret. Though this is showing quite a lot of tertiary character it is still drinking well , drink now and over the next 5 or so years — 3 days ago

Medium ruby garnet , medium terracotta rim . Quite reserved at first with some sweet spice and touch anis and strawberry, red cherry notes . Red plum tea , touch of seaside as well. On the palate this is quite nicely sweet with red fruits , delicate and perfumed . Cherry , strawberry , touch of anis and sweet tannin , balanced acidity and generous finish . This still comes across as quite young and fruit driven . However is giving lots of pleasure now with time in the glass . From now and over the next 10 years — 12 days ago

Quite light garnet , wide terracotta rim . Quite a lot of smoky sous bois, with some light red fruits, sweet dry spices , touch of hickory . On the palate this is pretty evolved and has started to dry out slightly , with some some sweet red currant , dried spices, salty acidity and resolved tannin . Ok , slate tinged finish . Drink now , and probably would have been better a few years ago . — 19 days ago

Quite light spices , coffee , sous bois , herbal hints . On the palate this has good density and spicy , menthol , dark coffee stained fruit , some slightly gritty tannin . It comes across as quite ripe but with balanced acidity and quite good menthol tinged length . This was served blind from a half bottle . I was putting this in the 80s and Napa , not Bordeaux! This had to do with the texture and quite ripe , generous fruit profile . Drinking perfectly now , I wouldn’t wait any longer — 3 days ago

Slightly more browning than the Rocche, more terracotta and garnet rim . Deeper and quite meaty in character , bit more porcini , cured meats , dark fruit , more mineral . More meaty and compact on the palate too , touch of anis and rose , porcini , mineral , dark fruits . Well balanced more gritty tannin and quite fresh acidity . Good iron filling , anis tinged finish . This is more sombre and dark in character less charming and more rustic than the Rocche . Drinking well now , but will continue to give pleasure over the next 8-10 years or so — 12 days ago

Pale straw . Quite floral , citrus , chalky touches , blanched almonds , after a while some pastry and yeasty notes . Quite creamy on the palate , with some herbal , chalky notes , lemon rind and quite high acidity , ok yeasty finish. This is well balanced and quite fresh in style , drinking well now I would drink this over the next 3-5 years . — 19 days ago
