Plenty of primary black fruits and cassis upfront. Lavished with oak notes of vanilla bean, cocoa powder. Just a slight hint of eucalyptus in the back. Given the price, this deserves more cellar age.

It’s really hard not to be seduced by Harlan. Yes, there’s hype - but never have I been disappointed by this wine. Structured, profound and finely nuanced. Excellent.

A wine of restraint and sensuality, the 2014 Harlan Estate is wonderfully transparent in feel. Time in the glass brings out a compelling interplay of beautifully layered fruit and lifted aromatics. The 2014 is one of the most understated yet energetic young vintages of Harlan Estate I can remember tasting. Readers who have not tasted Harlan Estate in a few years might be taken aback by just how sophisticated and nuanced the 2014 is. This is a superb effort. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2018)

Brother in law brought out some amazing wines for Easter dinner and his son’s birthday. Didn’t catch them all but these two were exceptional. This one got a short decant could have used more opening time but who are we kidding it was amazing with a pop and pour. The depth of flavor right out of the bottle - insane. Amazing nose, great flavors in the palate and a finish that lasted. Clearly WOTN and we should have given it way more time. I gave it as much time in glass as possible. To hard not to drink.
