The intensity more than the power
The elegance more than the strength

Needs 45 minutes minimum to open, but when it does, what a gloriously elegant, silky wine. Spice and perfumed dried rose petals showing on both nose and palate. Moderately long finish. A beautiful wine.

Aug 9th, 2016Secondary aromas of barnyard, dust, tobacco, and cigar. Darker fruit such as cassis, blackberries remain, but played a much more subtle role. Texture is mellow and tannins are well integrated. Guessed Bordeaux from the nose, but palate threw me off. Subtle sweetness towards the end is supposed to point to Shiraz. Apparently not the best bottle, but still great nevertheless. Learned a thing or two about old school Australian Shiraz made in the Bordeaux style!
