This grapey, ever-so-slightly syrupy juice delighted everyone with its grace and restrained power. Wow.

This is the 6th of an original 6 and from the first bottle the tasting notes have been consistent. This wine has a weird vegetal nose. I have described as H2S in previous notes. This off putting note does not come through on the palate which exhibits ripe fruits with raspberry to the fore. Finishing off with trademark silky tannins. As a coincidence of timing it's illustrious elder brother Hill of Grace - the 2012 vintage was just judged Wine of the Year by Australia's leading wine scribe James Halliday. Well done to Henschke.

H2S like Vegetal nose consistent with previous tastings - Off putting. However the palate is lovely sharing the silky supple tannin DNA of its more illustrious sibling Hill of Grace. Raspberry nuances. Certainly supports the theory one would be better off buying 6 Mount Edelstone rather than 1 Hill of Grace for the same money. The nose on this Edelstone is not normal in my tasting experience and should be treated as a one off.

Still a strong whiff of H2S and vegetal nuances which is consistent with my previous notes. Palate is medium bodied and showing prominent raspberry flavours. Not a lot of complexity for an 11 year old Edelstone. The trademark silky smooth tannins save the day but that nose is off-putting.

Noticeable H2S nose as there was a year ago in my notes. Also notes of ground coffee. Palate is uniquely Edelstone - berries with fine silky tannins plus an X factor which makes it Edelstone. 17.5 Junior Hill of Grace?

2nd best wine. I called it Amarone and was shocked at what it was as I’ve had it a few times before. On the sweeter side with massive depth. Big wine with lovely texture. Medium plus finish.

Great purple color with strong Raspberry flavor. No Hs2 as described before. Nice finish on the pallet with silky tannins.

So much flavour. Absolutely beautiful! Wish it was more easily accessible. Highly recommend if you can get your hands on it!
