Jean-Marc Brocard
Vau de Vey Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay

This is in a quite nice stage right now. It has a stony acidity that characterises it but underneath there's some richness with a slight hint of oak. I like it!

2012 vintage. Very bog standard. Overly ripe, succulent and sweet for me - Chablis should have some steeliness. There's also a tad too much weight here. Some flab. It's perfectly drinkable. Just not to my taste. The fruit are ripe citrus and stone fruit more reminiscent of Meursault. I think this has seen some oak ageing, with a caramelised lemon finish.
