Medium deep ruby with quite wide medium light garnet rim . This is quite deep and rich on the nose with deep plum , embers , earthy cassis and some tobacco . On the palate this has quite strict acidity , cassis and tobacco , the tannins are a little edgy as well . There is good volume however , with a sous bois , dark plum fruit . Reasonable length and good density still . A little rustic , perhaps a little astringent , but has lived the test of time and is still showing well now , no rush though this won’t improve. Quite good slightly drying cassis , tobacco tinged finish . Drink now and over the next 5 - 8 years .
