Did not expect to use the descriptors energetic and fresh when describing a bottle of 34 year old champagne but that’s exactly how to describe this bottle. The acidity was a thunderbolt. Somehow this bottle managed to have that wonderful combination of freshness with the complexity that comes with age . A real eye opener.

My buddy Jeff holding up a gorgeous 1.5L of 1990 Vintage Krug. Jeff brought a bunch of tonight's heavy hitter Latour's for a late post birthday party celebration 🎉 Happy birthday!!!
Tonight was Epic. A once in a lifetime tasting. This magnum was donated by an auction house for our event tonight. The 1990 vintage was gorgeous. Complexity, dense & chewy. Secondary flavor development due to aging such as ginger and honey. The finish was minutes long. I picked up minerality, it is balanced, very integrated and built to age even longer. I loved it! One of the best Krug's that I've had to date
