Marchesi de' Frescobaldi
Castelgiocondo Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese
Montalcino, Siena, Tuscany, Italy
Complicated wine. Cooked plums and cherries, heavy VA, balsamic, band aid, dried roses and violets, rich and meaty. Heavily flawed but still somewhat delicious. Glad we paid $26 instead of $47.

Feb 14th, 2020It's a predictable Brunello. And its ok because it means that the wine is excellent. The fruits are subdued. Vanilla, tobacco and some chocolate notes dominate on my nose and in mouth.
