Caliza Dominio de Valdepusa Syrah Petit Verdot

Dark cherry red with a garnet rim. The nose is intensely perfumed and powerful with scents of black fruit, roasted cocoa, savory herbs and mineral background. Large and powerful on the palate; a silky dense mid palate is filled with blackberries, plum compote and roasted fennel. Great structure and crazy long, mineral laden finish.

The Tobacco, leather, black berry and lavender dominated the nose.
Moderate acid with high tannic coated on the palate with a long finish.
Very well balanced with a very affordable price

The 70 Syrah 30 pedit Verdot is an earthy mineral reminder of a heavy Spanish wine.

Pretty good when paired with some red meat. We had it with roast beef and it paired well. Very dry by itself, however.

Halls Steakhouse served this at our house.
