2003 had a clove like smell upon opening the bottle along with some hot earth or some would call minerality. This was one that got better as it breathed. First impression was ash like and somewhat hot to me. Lots of tannins but the berries and chocolate did hang around. After about thirty minutes it drank nicely. Rich berries and chocolate lingered mixing well with hints of coffee in there. Finished nicely.
