What a nose. Just singing. Red cherries, florals, such lift and brightness. Mind-blowing. Super confectionery. Palate is a delight. Superb sappy fruit and tremendous lift and sweetness. Gorgeous freshness and cut. Love that rustic edge Maranges has but with sweet, ripe tannins and just gorgeous sour/sweet cherry fruit. This is what Burgundy does better than anybody in the world. Inexpensive Pinot with profound character. Great texture and energy. Just brilliant. Let’s see what air does. Sappy cranberry bog and wonderful depth now after 4 hours open. Elegant, sweet and tangy. Real class for a Maranges. Really juicy and engaging. Great nose on day 2. Bright, cherries, some sour cherries and such limestone lift. Florals and spice as well. Terrific sweetness and energy. Very fresh and such clear fruit. Elite Maranges. Such silken texture as well and the finish is much longer than it should be.
