Poured into a decanter right before service. The 2020 pours a deep garnet color with a translucent core; medium viscosity, with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Montmorency cherry, red flowers, black tea, fresh sage, some dried green herbs and dry, dusty earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. This is a classic, rustic Chianti Classico without the DOCG designation. Better after 2030 and will drink well through 2045.

Sipping Fine Wine

Deep Ruby with aromas of fresh berry fruits, floral and slight spicy notes. Blend of 90% Sangiovese with the rest Canaiolo and Colorino, aged 24 months in oak. Fruit comes primarily from a 2.5 hectare parcel of vines planted in 1982 on a south – southeast facing slope. On the palate cherry and black raspberry flavors, adding lovely floral notes, well balanced with acidity and fine tannins. The finish is long ending with slight earthy smoky minerality. Very Nice!!

2020 / high expectations, not a bad wine but didn’t live up to it for me. Maybe too young, maybe it was me
