When in NZ, drink NZ wine. And this is one of the best wines to drink. Ripe cherry, cola and spice with great acidity and a complex smooth finish. A bit more extracted than the 2014, but shows a reliable consistency. Too bad Kiwis don't have anything decent to pair with this, because this deserves some great food.

Deep layered nose of herb, spice and cherry. Good weight and very well textured. Showing its youth with slight uneasy vegetal phenolics. I'm being picky. An outstanding wine that should develop nicely over a few years.

Apr 27th, 2015Lovely translucent red colour with a very enticing Wild blackcurrant bouquet that has a pepper edge. The taste initially echoes the bouquet but it falls away to be a little bitter. Not bad for the price though.
