Certainly not modern in character, but also not that classic, the elegance and purity here are a rare occurrence in Montalcino where power, firm structure and oak (modernists) dominate the landscape.
A beautiful and sensual wine, the tannin are fine but firm, and fruit and nuance are tightly wound. This is all primary still at 9 years of age from nose to finish so wait a few more years.
2007 was warm growing season, but there is not even a trace of heat.

Beautiful Brunello, soft, warm, floral and herbal notes, dusty yet fresh and clean. Medium-bodied, silky, soft tannines. At peak.

Really enjoyable. Dried flowers, sandalwood and a nice core of fruit. The acidity kept this fresh and the tannins were elegant, which surprised me given the vintage.

Amazing nose. A bit more fruit than I typically find in a Brunello. Would probably age beautifully.
