Cocoa powder and cedar on the nose. Lovely coarse-grained tannins kick in first of all, chased by ripe cherries, and hints of syrop de cassis. Good density and mouthfeel completes an enjoyable experience. This needs to relax a little (due to the tannins). Give it another year more in the bottle, if you can resist that long.

This is a very good Rutherford cab for the price ($32?). No obvious heat, tannins are in check for a '13 at this young stage, and the fruit is forward without being overtly sweet. Given how it's showing now, this might be one to drink over the next couple years vs. cellar.

I thought it was a bit austere at first but by the second day it opened up and developed a wonderful fruitiness. Unfortunately for me the taste does not persist after the first swallow.
