Big juicy Pinot

2005 still has the charm. And the salinity.

Plenty of dark fruits (Blackberry), very interesting savory notes (fennel seed, tarragon and hint of mint) and some dampness.. High Acid which balances the alcohol and a medium finish.

So yummy! Not the earthy taste that you would expect from a 2005. It tastes better with friends!

2005. 10 years too long for this Pinot. Flavor smashed together in a jammy mess. Like this wine was in a car accident. Sad. Drink Sea Smoke young!

I waited a few years too long on this bottle -- the acids were lower than I hoped but it was still very nice. Cali pilots are typically best 6-8 years after production...

Amazing 2005

Perfect right now. More concentrated fruit than the last few years of sea smoke. But really a delicious wine.
