The Border Crossing Old Vines McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon
McLaren Vale, Fleurieu, South Australia, Australia
Yes, we are still in renovation hell, but at least the outline of our cellar is beginning to take shape π
This wine is knockout. The Aussies are coming back, strong. This comes off like a Napa cab. Good tannins and complimentary acid, which frame up a super example of Shiraz. At $15 per, itβs a no-brainer π

Full-bodied, rich, powerful. A solid choice. Will be a crowd pleaser.

Really solid: impressive concentration w/out over-extraction boasted squid ink colors and copious ripe rich black fruit on the nose. Needs some time to unwind but delicious all around. With a whiff of white pepper and a hint of soil, too fruit driven for Cote Rotie but you get the lineage. Restrained tannins & alcohol, fat mid-palate & persistent length.
