The Other Guys
Leese-Fitch California Cabernet Sauvignon
California, USA

Purple/ ruby in color with medium intensity and a reddish rim.
Fruity nose with cherries, light oak, vanilla, red candy, earth, light vegetables, spices and black pepper.
Medium-bodied with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with cherries, sweet strawberries, plums, wood, licorice, spices, dark chocolates, light earth and black pepper.
Medium in length on the finish with fine grained tannins and cranberries.
This is a simple Cabernet from California. Nicely balanced with a soft mouthfeel. Good right out of the bottle and drinking nicely by itself.
Very easy drinking right now (3 year old). Better when lightly chilled. After 45 minutes it opens up and shows some tannins.
13.5% alcohol by volume.

This Cabernet is actually a bit of a blend with 81% Cab, 9% Merlot (and 4 other grape varieties). However it definitely works and this med bodied wine showcases bright flavors of sweet black cherry and cranberry with nuanced hints of dried herbs, with a light tannic structure to give it a little bite. A great value, and a perfect Monday night wine! ($5.5) [7/17/17]

If it wasn't for the label I would think this was a merlot. Not bad, mellows nicely and is easy to enjoy.
