Tokaji Furmint

Rare white varietal from the Tokaji Region in Hungry. Golden yellow honey color, Apple and honey aromas with a good dose of acid and melon fruits on the pallet. Paired with grilled tuna today - delicious!

My first experience with this varietal. Do not know if it was the fact that it is a 16 year-old white wine or other factors, but was not too impressed. 

Riesling like petrol dried apricots and orange zest aromatics. Balanced with good backbone of acidity.

Bright acid with an underlying minerality.
Something a bit fishy on the nose that is slightly off-putting.
Tastes better than it smells

Now that's a spicy fermint! Paired nicely with a spicy pork sausage, some bell peppers, onions and white peach. I would cook with this again.
