Unusual. Good aroma. Have never had Mataro so maybe that is what makes it different.

Blackberry, prune, sweet tobacco, dark chocolate, black licorice, crystallized sugary cinnamon, fresh leather. Nose opened up a ton after 30ish min/hour.

Palate: candied blackberry/blueberry, strawberry candy, paprika spice. Lingering flavors of dark chocolate and raspberry. Awesome balance of acidity, alcohol and tannins.
