The 2017 Villa Maria Private Bin Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc shows the expected grassy, herbal nose with tropical fruit and minerals included. The palate is also full of those mineral notes, as well as lemon, lime and guava flavors. Acidity is brisk, and the lengthy finish is fresh and citrusy.

1 person found it helpfulMay 3rd, 2019I like this reservedly. Straw colored. Crazy cool tropical grapefruit mineral on the nose. Nicely creamy on the palate, but also very high acid. Like, not medium plus, just straight-up HIGH. Clear grapefruit on the palate and finish, with a balancing note of tropical blossoms. If I wasn't having this with fried seafood I think the acid would outweigh the killer aroma, smoothness and finish, and make it almost undrinkable. Hard to give a number rating for that reason.
