Opened at 55 degrees. Rich fruit and distinct chocolate syrup aroma. Ripe cherry and dried strawberry, dried coconut jump out. Seems to be interwoven with the classic oak notes (dill/coconut/vanilla), and pleasing aromas of fresh soil. Palate is an array of flavors, sometimes fruit, sometimes something leafy/foresty, coconut cream. Not a delicate style Rioja. But lovely!

The blacker and more intense side of Rioja. Trades grace for structure, not entirely successfully. I prefer the Imperial, but I'm sure this would hold together for the ages. I just want more pretty.

Deep ruby and beautiful aromas indicating some age and development. Plum and cherry fruit along with leather, mushroom, chocolate. Fine tannins and acidity are balanced with the fruit and aging components. Almost mocha-like finish.
