Lingonberry, blackberry, and blueberry on the nose. Deep fruits with hints of lavender and assorted spices. Tannins are present but not overwhelming, mouthfeel is medium+ (lighter than expected for a “full body”). Great with red meat or complex cheeses and chocolates. Excellent vintage and ready to drink now. — a year ago
Bruised pear, unripe blueberries, lime, young strawberries. Wet cobblestone, limestone. Medium+ body, pretty heavy tannins, good to pair with fish or stew. Reminds me of carrots and celery in a broth. Leads into port nicely. — 2 years ago
Cherry, plum, vanilla, bit of smoke (tobacco/bark?). Great with gamey meats and cold cuts. Great red fruits. Medium+ body, normal tannins making it very easy to drink. Just all around a great bottle. — a year ago
Forward tannins, medium body. Bit of spice, vanilla, tarty. Flavorful and lingers. Unlike any Pinot I’ve had, it’s definitely a pairing wine (think meat-oriented charcuterie or spicy food or even mushroom dishes.) Good but not so much on its own. — a year ago
Strong fruit on the nose, dark and deep ruby color. Aromatic. Hefty tannins. Oak, sandalwood, tobacco. Good with strong cheeses and game. Recommend. — 2 years ago
Strong vintage, good value to buy and store as I’m sure aging will make this label flourish. Sour cherry, slight apricot and cranberry, and blackberry-esque finish. Very light and easy to drink, classic Piedmont feel. Would pair well with dark fruits and mild cheeses. Not too much to gain on the nose but lingers on the tongue. — 2 years ago
Cinnamon, red cherry, raspberries, roses, lavender, spices. Caramel and other dark flavors/ tartness follow through. The aromas blare from the glass. Medium body with the intensity of something fuller, manageable tannins. Lingers and wants to be paired with lamb or complex cheese. Brilliant on its own. — a year ago
On the nose: berries and bruised apple. Cinnamon. Bitter chocolate, ripe cherry. Mouthfeel: remarkable balance. Medium body (I’d even go medium-) with great structure. Hit with raspberry but rest of the fruit follows. Tannin level is perfect to round off a great sip. Good on its own or paired with red meats and light sauces. Also great with chocolate desserts. Great vintage. Wow! — 2 years ago
Pairs well with fruit and light desserts. Surprisingly not a mismatch with a mousse or the like. Would buy again in a pinch but not as sweet as I would’ve liked. — 2 years ago
