Continuing sampling this neat Cotes du Rhone producer. 85% Grenache 15% Syrah. Dried red currants and prunes backed by a bouquet of cigar box, cocoa, and garrigue and hints of sandalwood and violets. Terrific complexity, though you expect that at this price, I don't expect that from a wine dominated by Grenache. — a month ago
Godello is described as a being like a cross of chardonnay, albarino, and riesling. Those grapes have little in common but they are all among my favs. But my first sniff of this wine confirms, yes, I see it. Aromas of citrus and flowers laced with petrol and vanilla. The finish has the immediately lightness of albarino but then grows heavy like a fine chardonnay. — 2 months ago
Grapefruit, Meyer lemon, apricot, honeydew, fresh-cut grass, and hints of vanilla. Grown in Sauternes soil on old semillon and sauvignon blanc. — 13 days ago
Racy for an American sauvignon Blanc. Aromas of peaches, Meyer lemon, grapefruit, fresh pineapple, and guava with lesser notes of fresh-cut grass, fine ash, and silica minerals. — a month ago
Aromas of fresh-cut watermelon, wildflowers, sour cherry candies overlaying bramble and sea minerals. — a month ago
Resuming my journey through Italian wine with this lovely Moscato D'Asti. Bursting with orange peel and lemon bar aromas backed by notes of orchard blossoms, gardenia, and a hint of minerals. Delightful summer fun. — 2 months ago
This must be like what quality Condrieu actually tastes like. Bursting with honey, lychee, and spiced apples. — 19 days ago
Terrific value Southern Rhone. Bursting with aromas of white flowers and honey backed by a racy combination of lime juice, cardamom, ginger, and minerals. Beautiful lingering finish that echoes the honeyed citrus and spice aromas. — a month ago
Still drinking through Italy. This week's stop: Ligurian coast. A bit funky, a bit racy, a bit fruity. Whille cold, aromas of wild fennel, herbs, pine forests, sea brine, and olive groves--basically everything you find in the DOC. As the wine warms, dried apricot and citrus begin to emerge. Definitely a fun geek wine. — 2 months ago

Classic honeysuckle and orchard fruit notes. Nice finish. Not super complex, but Chenin Blanc rarely is. — 6 days ago
