Pleasantly surprised with this one. Found this is the back of my wine cellar forgotten about for a couple years. Ended up being a really nice old world Italian red. No idea what the vintage is — 6 years ago

Tart, dry, refreshing, medium to bold body pineappley — 7 years ago
Initially mild on the tongue with a sharp quick acid bite that mellows almost immediately. VERY drinkable. Bottle sitting out for the day improved the experience! — 8 years ago
1988 was the firstbrelease of Montes Alpha wine when Montes became one of the first premium wineries in Chile. Today Aurelio Montes continues leading the winemaking effort. A blend of 90% Syrah, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon & 3% Viognier. Very dark red with full berry fruit nose adding mineral and spice notes. On the palate blueberry and cherry flavors with cacao and vanilla oak accompanying soft tannins. Lingering finish ending with toasty spice. Nice value. — 9 years ago

1st release of Montes Alpha was in 1988 when Montes became one of the first premium wineries in Chile. Today Aurelio Montes continues leading the winemaking effort. A blend of 90% Syrah, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon & 3% Viognier. Very dark red with aromas of berry fruit and cedar spice notes. On the palate blueberry and cherry flavors with cacao, leather and vanilla oak. Fine tannins, medium+ finish ending with toasty spice. Nice value. Tasted twice. — 5 years ago
Aurelio opened this inaugural vintage in honor of the passing of wine owner Luis Delgado.
Complex and complete. Youthful colrr that shows some age in the edge, but center is still purple. Nose is intensely cassis, animal/meaty (not dirty), minty, salted plum. This has a lot of life left, if anyone has bottles left. 😅 — 6 years ago
Loved it. Tart cherries, earthy, long finish, good tannins, but in a medium to light package. Not the best nose. Seems heavy w al. But just 13% al. Great by itself. As good day two. — 7 years ago
Tar, rose petals and everything Barolo should be, but don't see it getting any better with more time in the bottle — 8 years ago
From Basilicata, east of Naples, comes this ref Aglianico with a scent of chocolate and black fruits. The light but persistent, balanced palate has an almost sweet cherry flavour, is slightly tannic, with some nice spice and vanilla notes. Lidl €9.99 bargain. — 9 years ago
