Anthony Buchanan White Pinot Noir 2021: Unusual. Unique. Unfiltered. Loving this limited production, hand crafted, no skin contact Pinot Noir. Nice flavors of green apple, grapefruit & lemon with a medium-plus finish. This was such an interesting yet amazing wine! Glad it was recommended to me as I am sure I would of overlooked it! Recently rated 92 points by Wine Advocate this Pinot lives up to the hype. Small production (100 cases), the fruit comes from 30 to 40 year old self rooted vines on the family's Century Farm. Winemaker/Vineyard Manager Merrilee Buchanan Benson hits a home run with this delicious Pinot from the great 2012 Willamette Valley vintage. — 11 years ago

It's time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday.

Deep purple in color with a purplish rim.

On the nose plums, sweet cherries, red currants, oak, spices, licorice, coffee, earth, light vegetables and herbs.

Full bodied with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with cherries, plums, raspberries, spices, oak, light vanilla, dark chocolates, herbs, earth, light alcohol and cinnamon.

Medium plus on the finish with round tannins and tangy cranberries.

This is very young Merlot based Bordeaux blend from Sonoma Valley. Showing lots of red fruits with chocolate notes. Elegant with a nice mouthfeel.

A Right Bank Bordeaux in style, with lots fruits. Tangy and interesting.

Needs time to open up a property. I gave it 60 minutes. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years.

Good by itself and better with food. I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

A blend of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc. Aged in French oak barrels for 2 years.

14.5% alcohol by volume.
