Wow, coffee bean colored head turns lighter cream; from biscotto to sponge texture to satin. Garden of the gods lacing. Espresso, mocha, dark chocolate, burnt brittle, and toffee nose. Rich and complex and focused with deft straddle of bitter and sweet, creamy and dry. Chocolate assumes a caramel droplet, while honey comes to mind with floral notes. Ribbons of Turkish coffee, and plenty of oak and char compete for the remainder. Big, sinewy, chewy and earthy, just wrapped in sumptuous sweets. Awesome! .

Deepest red amber echoes eponymously, chaos ensuing in its lofty-top curtain drop of ocean foam encroaching and Cyprus knee lacing. Pine nettle, maple flower, bruised banana and overripe pineapple. Cinnamon toast and caramelizing Vidalia onion aromas. There is an ocean brine and orange blossom back breeze. Heavier mouthfeel accents tastes of orange-honey, marmalade, resinous malts, bay leaf, oregano and nutmeg leading to grapefruit and kumquat. Über-bubble, if-just hazed, loose ocean foam, goes poof!, then just nebulae. Oily lacing of misfit moustaches. One swirl, though, and instant star nursery. Tangelo-lemon goodness blasts from the glass! Pure tropical mango from the tree. Grapefruit aspirations. Equally bright palate with the focus on a mineral-citrus that finds the perfect palatial trajectory, and sticks the landing on four hops. Namely, Mosaic for the baptismal tesserae, Citra for the gilded apse, Hallertau Blanc for the hallowed ground, and galaxy for the space between. Amen to the combo. Tartaric reverberations through a briny air, really quite evocative. This tastes the way Florida sometimes smells just after a rain. Tropical and saturated, but clean and spring-y. Jasmine, sweet grapefruit pith, lime and lemon. Really a great beer! .

Sweet dankness interswirled with lemon, tangerine and grapefruit notes. But ever earthy with cola highlights on the nose. Nutty and hempy initially; caramel, light coffee, dark pastry, grapefruit oil, peel and zest appear with prominence. Ever flavor on the palate remains for the ride, and it is a long one. Active, perfect yellow amber pushing orange hard. Big bubbled beige-yellow head that dropped expectedly quick, with so much action. Petri-dish lacing with cytoplasm graffiti. Huge pineapple nose of fresh-cut ripe fruit! Grapefruit tattoo, but little else. General lemon creaminess; a memo from mandarin. Pineapple rum entry with caramel and vanilla, baked apple, brandy-pear, classy touch of black pepper, allspice, ginseng, soft ginger slices, dried orange peel, anise, and lime. Heady and thick, cut, wiry, and sinewy, but overall, a calculated, choreographed, disciplined display of restrained power, lithe and evocative, with a smooth finish.

Black with burnt umber highlights. Low and creamy head springs with bubbles combining to undercut its great form. Fireworks lacing slow falls to leopard spots. Espresso and baker’s chocolate nose boasts licorice and chicory, campfire notes and vanilla. Palate shows none of the sweet elements of the nose initially. Instead, pipe tobacco and unsweetened bitter chocolate, the chicory and burnt toast prevail; a burnt tips taste lingering. Baked pecan, dark caramel, black pepper, and ethiopean coffee, with black chewing tobacco and vanilla bean complete the circuit. Power and restraint, in this lovely offering. Perfect sheet of fog lacing falls like a slo-mo curtain to reveal layer two of mountain snows reflecting moonlight. Nose of bananas foster in all its blazing brandy and it’s caramelized olfactory topography; a malt image in sensory sepia to match the mountainscape. Nutmeg, cola and pecan dessert vies with baklava. The palate is a revelation in balance. Tang-sequel coloration with perfect equilibrium and crown persistence. Wig white, even dissipation reminiscent of fine cigar burn. Striating lacing of cartoon chompers and snowy tangle of wildwood. Pleasant malty and citrus interplay punctuated by oranges and pink grapefruit wild strawberry tart with caramel and sweet tobacco and Turkish coffee from a distance. Paisley lacing ensues. Lemon oils and candied grapefruit peel frame a tangerine occurrence and sparkly mineral stardusting, and a textural approximation of peaches that adds pliancy. After the initial fruit, and subsequent sips your mouth builds up the bitter units to tangible topography that lingers. Overall, a well crafted and thoughtfully restrained offering from an iconic producer. You can sense that they wanted to get this one right. Lacing remnants: gothic text with horror overtones on one side, middle command graphics, and a t-Rex-alligator-puma logo for your new pumped up kicks. .

Puffy clouds float atop alpenglow orange opacity, lacing the barriers with the remains of heraldic coats of arms weathered nearly indistinguishable by time, like the thin anonymous gravestones in ancient churchyards. Orange and tangerine, clementine and thyme, ruby grapefruit, and candied lemon, Froot Loops, green grapes, dragon fruit and kiwi scented. Lovely lime and lemongrass, quince, cardamom pod, chamomile, white pepper dusted pineapple, pomelo, and steely minerality that fractures into micro clove and aniseed while immersed in lemon oils and orange. Really nice offering. Keeps you guessing and offers some interesting taste combos.

Grapefruit-clementine nose of carrot sweetness and cut yellow beet teases out almond candy, persimmon, kiwi and green banana. Palate is less tropical, with icy citrus and metallic energy, but texturally creamy; candied sage, Indian gum, Mexican wedding cookie flashbacks, white grapefruit, gooseberry, lime pith and white pomegranate seed nodules. Hints at white pepper in orange pith. I like it. Less “juicy” than suggested, but high quality offering worth the rotation. Something to shake a stick at!

With the look of a certain sample and the smell of hemp flour popping from the off-white head, it looks like you might not get the job! On the plus side, there is a lovely candied grapefruit mixed with hemp flower, tangerine, and lemon zest aroma driving the Hebrew alphabet lacing. The pine tar entry isn’t for everyone, but I for one, appreciate flavors that resinate (sic). Pine cones and petrol, hemp seeds and lemongrass, almond extract and bay leaf. Lemon peel and grapefruit zest pull us back to fruits but a pecan bitterness and tea tree oil, make it arboreal. Maduro brown with mahogany polish; solid cap of varying creams. Low-helium balloon, slow drop lacing bejeweled like lively paramecia. There is a sweet cola entry which builds malt and date and brown sugar scope, adding vanilla bean and cocoa. Chewed leather, candied ginger, waterlogged ginseng, almond, pecan, chestnut and bourbon notes. Lighter-than-anticipated mouthfeel expresses tea versus cola implied, but leaves you ruminating on it’s perfection, which is somehow like dark toasted phyllo brushed with maple living like a wafer inside of a bonbon biosphere. Several roots are prominent; sassafras, ginger, man back, and glazed, roasted carrots. There is an overshadowing of coffee, though thin, and carob. The malt prevails, to plant the Belgian flag. Tastes of gritty, rustic elements, but flows like fine silks. Bravo! .
