Covenant Wines - 2018 “Mensch” Lodi Zinfandel
Surprisingly tame for Lodi Zinfandel, also surprisingly good for Mevushal wine (fruit was processed by Flash Détente).
Have been wanting to try the wines of Covenant for a while, grabbed at WF to try during Bay Area Lock Down. — 7 years ago
Took this down last night with the bf and we both give it a thumbs up. It is purple-y fruity flowered and I believe was friends with an oak barrel at some point in its life. Seder-friendly, I’d think. All these kosher wines are making me crave haroset. — 7 years ago
A supreme cali Sauvignon Blanc, great acid and minerality, and quite complex on top of that. — 9 years ago

This wine was delicious and developed in the glass over the course of dinner. Blueberries, blackberries and sweet cherry was present along with black fruits in aroma. Very enjoyable. — 6 months ago
This was actually a Covenant 2014 Malbec blend - Makom B’Sonoma. — 6 years ago
Dark ruby in color with a short purple rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, chocolates, spices, peppercorn, light vegetables and pencil lead.
Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with plums, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, spices, chocolates, tobacco, coffee, peppercorn and pencil lead.
Medium plus on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy pomegranates.
This is a great, Petit Verdot based, red blend from Sonoma County. Nicely balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up, with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel.
Drinking nicely now, and will age nicely in the next 5 years. I had it a year ago and it is drinking better now.
A blend of 60% Petit Verdot, 30% Malbec and 10% Syrah. Kosher. Not Mevushal.
14.4% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

08' Covenant Solomon Lot 70. This Cabernet was sourced from two of Leslie Rudd's vineyards Oakville/Mount Veeder. I'm guessing Mount Veeder to be Samantha's.
30 minute decanting . Color- Dark ruby red . Palate-Blackberry, second wave of blue fruits, chocolate, spice-box , smoky oak. This particular bottle it's just starting to show its true potential.
Edit- I'm finding that most 08's are very approachable now. — 9 years ago
Excellent. Balanced and is very drinkable yet oaky and fuller. Remember this one. — 4 years ago
Acidic wine good with the food... Taste blackberries, coco powder, pomegranite. Enjoyed! — 7 years ago
So so smooth and settled, fragrant and deep flavours that are subtle and very long and smooth. Had it after airing overnight — 8 years ago
2006 vintage still loaded with red fruit and good acid. The tannins were lush and balanced. Opened for an hour in decanter before consuming. — 9 years ago
Black as midnight, lovely structure, long finish, nice tannin (but not soft)...black currants, classic spice, dark fruit all over. The alcohol is quite forward in the nose. — 10 years ago

Pretty color of gold.

Full bodied and soft with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with lemons, light peaches, limes, apples, light oak, spices and light herbs.
Nice finish with lemons and limes.
This is a delicious Chardonnay from Sonoma County. Rich and elegant. Fruit forward, tangy and complex. Nicely balanced with a soft mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle, and neither tart nor bitter.
Easy drinking and good by itself or with food. A great sipping wine.
