Leather and charcoal in the nose; silky smooth in taste. Plums, cherries, lychee and its characteristic pepper tingle — 7 months ago

Amazing freshness with the 20+ age, spicy nose, pure minerality.
Hints of beeswax, shy quince, salty rocks, the purity here is just insane.
On the palate this hits with brilliant acidity (not far from Fino!), paired with spicy minerality and barely a hint of apples sprinkled with fleur de sel. Great depth and amazing electric tension.
This is brilliant! I am blown away. Wowza! — 6 months ago
Beau hasard! — 6 years ago
Absolutely beautiful red. We drank this with some cheese, would also go beautifully with meat and even on its own. No harsh tannins and such a smooth wine. Can't wait to have more. Very subtle barossa wine. — 7 years ago
The pro reviewer has it right: if you like Papillon you should seek out Aftermath. This 2014 might have been a wee bit past, or before, its prime: smooth; paired well with filet; but without the “kick” that would prompt me to rate it higher. I will go get a newer vintage and wait… — 3 months ago
Deep dark fruit, Like a Cab Franc in herbal and green pepper notes, deep but bright and light at the same time — 10 months ago
I loved this wine! — 6 years ago
The label is, as usual, original. It's my fourth wine from Orin Swift Cellars (after "Abstract", "Papillon" and "Palermo"). And it's fantastic.
it is a blend of petite syrah, syrah and grenache. Ink color. The nose is full of fruity aromas: a plum, a blackberry and a blackcurrant and sweet liqueur aromas. Also the palate. But there you can also find a leather and a cocoa. Pleasant acidic finale reduces sweetness and closes this wine. — 6 years ago
Great Provonce Rose’ — 7 years ago
The big bad expensive Jericho Canyon now available in GA!!! This their 2013 Cab. At almost 200 a bottle I am a bit disappointed. If it were 75 dollars Id give it a 9.2. Its 14.9% acl/vol. Big dark fruit up front and a bit or orange peal on the mid palate. The fish is pretty dry and oaky. Its a great wine for a wealthy palate. I prefer a good Orin Swift Papillon!!!!! — 8 years ago
