Vinho melhor que o Marchiori 2011 — 7 years ago
Tasted blind. Tawny color, looks younger than the 78 Giacosa next to it. Almost opaque. Notes of tart cherries, rhubarb, black fruit and earth. Silky in the mouth. Seems young still. The Monfortino is more rich and round than the Giacosa but the Giacosa is more complex and intriguing. A memorable mano y mano battle, thanks Murray! — 8 years ago
2016 vintage. Distinctive and very floral. White peach, rose water, raspberry, guava, iris, lemon curd, strawberry bubblegum. Palate seems almost manic and all over the place, but in a less obnoxious way. 75 Primitivo 25 Aleatico. — 9 years ago
54% Carignane 26% Zin, 20% Mataro. Popped and poured. Gorgeously zingy Carignane dark cherry and blackberry Zin fruit combine but are going mano-a-mano with American oak coconutty scents. Perhaps that’ll integrate with air. On the palate there’s beautiful fruit/acid/tannin balance. Nicely concentrated. Should be really good with pasta con broccoli rabe.
UPDATE: This was a hair better on night 2. The oak had settled down a bit and the beautifully pure fruit was out front in the limelight. — 3 years ago

Boutique winery out of Lujan de Cuyo. QPR is outstanding. Delivering way above it's price point. Would be fantastic paired with braised short ribs with a spicy basil sauce. — 6 years ago

Inexpensive and pleasant red. Ruby color and notes of sour cherries. Highly acid body with undeveloped tannins hat need a few more years in the bottle. A pleasant match for rich and fatty meats. — 8 years ago

From the wine list at EMP bought by a new friend at the table next to us to go mano a mano against the 88 La Turque I shared. Slightly darker red and more pure in color. Amazing aroma that is more linear than the animalistic La La but in the same league. Hit its stride right out of the pop and pour gate. Lovely perfume with a more briary nose but speaks Cote Rotie from the get go. Perfectly integrated fruit and structure. Best Jamet I've had. Thanks to Danny for this treat. — 9 years ago
Lovely Friulano from Friuli! I've seen this grape compared to Sauv Blanc, but this was more elegant and less tangy. While there was still some hint of citrus (mostly lemon zest), this was overshadowed by pear, honey, grass and stone notes. Quite savory! 100% Friulano. 5/5/23. — 3 years ago
Dark fruity with complexities of tobacco. Tart pomegranate taste with sweet endings. — 6 years ago

Много ягод, прованские травы, кислое мясо, немного бочки, сливки, среднетелое, чуть жестковатые танины, долгое и красивое вишневое послевкусие. Очень хорошо. — 8 years ago
