A merlot rosé from Acumen’s Estate vineyard on Atlas Peak, this medium pink wine has loads of strawberry, raspberry, blood orange, cherry and floral aromas and flavors. Crisp acidity helps offset the barest hint of residual sugar. The wine is lovely with spicy foods or dipping on the patio on a dinner afternoon — 3 years ago

Another enjoyable wine from the volcanic mountainside of Mt Etna. Good minerality and bright red fruit. Extremely enjoyable with both pasta and meat courses. — 4 years ago

The description: Chateau Pesquié Quintessence Rouge is a well-rounded blend of Syrah and Grenache grapes, grown in the scenic mountainside vineyards of Ventoux in the Rhone Valley. It boasts an intense ruby-red color and aromas of blackcurrant, cherry, and spices, all of which are complemented by earthy and smoky undertones.
The opinion: Description accurate, but it needs a hunk of red meat or a rich duck sausage dish. It’s ok but better around for the value. — 18 days ago
