This aged in barrel for a ridiculous 44 months… The complexity and breath was like a great reserva Rioja. Merlot was the lead - Jeff blended it from stocks he inherited from the previous owner. — 2 months ago
What a hidden Jim… The key ingredient here is the estate grown Nebbiolo worked into the pseudo SuperTuscan blend. Phenomenal flavor from the Virginia Piedmont. This was a recipient of a gold and more than deserving of it. — 4 months ago
2012 was a classic and tight vintage in Virginia… This blend does feature a lead of cab sauv at 38% with CF AT 31% - Merlot singing background at 25% — a year ago
Just lovely :) a little richer & sturdier than the 15 — 3 months ago
Wonderfully delicious four variety state blend from the foothills of the Blue Ridge. Exquisite viticulture - careful treatment in the wine room. Vibrant and energetic. Elegant and pure class. Red fruits and structure. — 4 months ago
Clean, beautiful fruit from Wild Meadow (think M.Shaps)… holding up nicely after eight years… Although the acid has weighed enough to make it difficult for cream based pairing options — 6 months ago
First take: it’s a bit muddled and flabby….lacking crisp structure. It is young so I will test on day two. Day 2.5: impressively, air has brought this one to life! Clarity and articulation are now present. The character profile is still medium+ weighted fresh red/black cherry with a delicate green herby frame. What improved - the focus and clarity of the acidity. It broadened, thus mouthfeel improved. — 4 years ago

I don’t know how many bottles of this I had, but this was my last one. From a remarkably wet vintage, Mark was able to use more PV to add tanning and depth of flavor to really save this build. Ironically, day two was better than day one! Flavors really unfurled as would be indicative of a highly concentrated wine. This was a real education in a bottle. — 2 months ago
