Holy Sh&t! One is always nervous when they open a bottle that is 50 years old. I knew provenance and storage was pristine. The color was spot on. The nose is a symphony of fruit. The palate is as if one was drinking marmalade that provides a sensation of sweet and sour notes. Opulent but pure velvet in the mouth providing an endless finish. CVed 8/23/17 comp of three Spats. Nose of honeysuckle and ripe fruits and a hint of petrol. Nice golden color. Medium body with acids coming through and good finish that ends with acids. Cantelop. Opened 10/3/17. Went with Laila spicy Beef noodle soup. — 9 years ago

Slightly disappointed with he effervesce of this wine when first opened . After 30 minutes of settling that went away and opens a nice mineral slate and stone fruit nose that was also displayed on the palate. Honey ,dates , apricot, slate and mineral dominated this bone dry and brightly acidic monster of a Riesling. — 10 years ago
