Bright citrus aromatics but the palate is what gets you, great texture , lip-smacking acidity and intense minerality, clean, long finish. Super young but exciting wine. Bought in Paris. — 11 years ago

Limpid pale garnet red. Earthy sous-bois notes complement aromas of ripe black plums, red berries, and hibiscus. Plummy on the palate with a greenish cast, there are flavors of beets, blood, and black fruits. This wine is bigger, more brooding and earthy than Inman's Olivet Grange Vineyard Pinot Noir (2010, tasted recently). It's the yang to that wine's yin; both are wonderful. 13.8% abv | $68 (sample) — 12 years ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of three days. Consistent throughout. The 2021 “Grange le Duc” pours a garnet color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with gorgeous notes of ripe strawberry, Montmorency cherry, salmiakki, freshly ground black pepper, dried green herbs, salt water taffy, and sous bois. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+. This is a classic, rustic expression of Burgundy that simply blows my mind. The nose alone, slays. Drink now through 2031. — 3 hours ago
