Family home for Christmas so these are brief notes. From a block of vines planted in 1961. A dry style but showing more fulsome flavours than the usual lime/lemon citrus. I actually enjoyed this as much as the Grosset Springvale. — 4 years ago

So different and so good. 12 yo South Australian Riesling. Golden yellow but no old Riesling honey...more like kerosene and pear. It just doesn't finish. Often the Grosset Polish Hill doesn’t live up to its billing as perhaps Australia’s finest dry Riesling but with this 2017 it probably exceeds expectations. It is simply fabulous. Some ripe lusciousness to the mid palate amid lime and lemon notes, but finishes bone dry. My first of 4 bottles so I will enjoy the journey over the next 5+ years if I can keep my hands off it. HH said it is shaping up as one of the greatest Polish Hill Rieslings. — 5 months ago

I believe this is my first time with a Henschke white. Intense citrusy nose along with florals and undertones of petro (nothing even close to a Grosset). A very zesty palate of some orchard fruit and plenty of acid. A moderate finish that I expect will extend once things better integrate. Mid Lemon in colour. Peachey flavours with a bitter finish. Full and luscious but finishes dry with 13.5% Alcohol. Nice to drink after the Grosset to compare. The following day honeyed notes. Delicious and uniquely European. — 8 years ago

Many of the Wine scribes in Australia are spruiking the 2017 vintage in Australia as superlative for Riesling. This Vickery did not disappoint. Aromas of Musk and Lime. The palate is richer than expected with the pronounced Acid one would expect. A long future ahead. On the basis of this I have ordered a mixed dozen of 3 different Rieslings from 2017 made by Jeffrey Grosset from the Clare Valley. — 9 years ago
