Serious lift with bright yellow sprinkles. — 9 months ago
Cool Cab Franc! Both as a quality descriptive as well as character.
Black currant, black currant leaf, aronia, graphite, cigar box. So fresh, so enticing. Cool & pure.
On the palate this is light-to-medium bodied, with beautifully polished, dust fine tannins and juicy acidity. Dark fruit, fresh herbs, graphite and a touch of roast. A flower hint perhaps. Incredible depth for such lightness of touch. Purity & precision.
I’m surprised how approachable this is already, and very curious how this will develop.
Delicious stuff!! — 2 years ago
So close to perfection — 3 years ago
Expressive nose with black peppercorns, cloves, crushed rock, a hint of iron & blood, underneath all that - pure black fruit. Fresh, spicy, enticing.
Medium bodied on the palate with ripe, grippy tannins, juicy black fruit acidity and nice purity to the fruit. This has grip, good tension, quite some power and loads of character. Reminiscent of Northern Rhône.
Nice length, too! A brilliant Austrian red! — 4 years ago
Slight touch of brett. Added to the wine as the fruit was still present. Was a great one. — 6 years ago
Hans Schiller – Liebfraumilch 2023
Rheinhessen – Germany 🇩🇪
Overview
Blend: A classic Liebfraumilch, a typical blend of Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner, and Riesling as more dominant base, which offers a bit more structure and lift. An easy sipper from Rheinhessen, Germany’s largest wine region.
Aromas & Flavors
Light, easy-drinking, and approachable. Gentle notes of orchard fruits like apple and pear mix with a touch of citrus and white peach. A hint of floral perfume gives it charm. The sweetness is soft, balanced by mild acidity, making it smooth and pleasant from start to finish.
Mouthfeel
Off-dry, round, and refreshing on the palate with a silky texture. Low alcohol keeps it very approachable, with a delicate finish.
Food Pairing
Best with light fare: spicy Asian dishes, mild cheeses, fresh fruit plates, or simply as an aperitif for casual sipping.
Verdict
A classic everyday German white—easy, sweet-leaning, and meant for uncomplicated enjoyment. Not about depth, but about pure drinkability and charm. Cheers!
Did you know?
“Liebfraumilch” translates to “Beloved Lady’s Milk,” a historic reference to the Virgin Mary and the vineyard around the Liebfrauenkirche (Church of Our Lady) in Worms, Germany. Once one of Germany’s most famous exports, it’s still widely enjoyed for its soft style. — 9 months ago
Super vibrant and clean — 10 months ago
Cloudy, flowery, funky.
A blend of Scheurebe and 3 Muscat varieties, 4 months skin contact, fermented on the lees.
Exotic nose with lychee, flowers in bloom, a bit of mango & guava, with some nice funk and brilliant freshness.
Great energy on the palate, bone dry and with nice, chalky minerality under the juicy acidity, a touch of tannins, great purity & flow.
This is delicious stuff! A perfect orange wine for beginners. — 2 years ago
This was Minute Maid lemonade mix, violets, and the smell of freshly sanded wood. Really fine acidity and surprising depth. I could sniff these for hours. I kinda did. I think @Carla Hine thought I was weird for doing so. — 4 years ago

Medium ruby color. Sour cherry on the nose. Hints of floral, rose petals. Low tannin. Medium-full body, almost jammy. A little acidity. A little tart on the finish.
A triumph! We had this with Thanksgiving dinner 2020. — 6 years ago
