Beautifully aged. Paired so perfectly with Chef Norman Van Aken’s Pork Havana at his Orlando Ritz Carlton location. Medium toast from the oak, vanilla, balanced, velvety mouth feel. Dried fruits, blackberry, cherry, tobacco, licorice. Soft around the edges. Decanted for two hours. Could cellar for a few more years. — 8 years ago

2017: Massive black/blue fruit concentration, young but not overly tannic. Maybe too much of a uni-dimensional fruit bomb at the this stage but also subtly oaked so I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt and round up. Less structured at this stage than Tignanello but could get a lot more interesting over the next few years. Havana/Bar Harbor. — 4 years ago

Mid nineties in Havana calls for a cold beer. Rather tasty and hit the spot. Want to cheers all the wonderful people we met and wish them the best. Delicious. Nose of crushed plums, rose petals, and earthier tones too. First sensation on and past the lips makes good on all the promise in that nose and the mid-palate seals the deal. LUSh. Layers that meld seamlessly. Whiffs of toasted cinnamon just barely poke through deep plum jam, unlit Havana cigar (no smoke here of any kind), light vanilla brandy, teensy blackberry bramble, just a nod to portobellos…and a more than medium long finish — 4 years ago
