A big wine - hefty, and a little murky. Kyle said “not as clean as the ones we love.” Blackberries, earth. Not bad, just not a favorite. — 5 years ago
Xmas Eve 2018 with Miral, Kyle and Grace. Wine tastes very good. Not too acidic. Benefits from aeration. — 8 years ago
Great Nebbiolo always surprises me in its ability to be brooding and powerful yet delicate. Floral and tobacco on the nose combine with blue and red fruit with light tar and smoke notes through a lengthy finish. Great balance. From magnum @Kyle Harvey — 8 years ago
WOTN! Blend of several indigenous Sicilian grapes (50% Nerello Mascalese, 20% Nerello Cappucio, 20% Nocera, 10% other indigenous varietals) from vineyards right off the Straights of Messina. Not an Etna wine, but embraces if not surpasses the Burgundian qualities many high end Sicilian wines approach. Tremendous acid balance and tannin integration that can only come from precise wine making. Very deep but funky mushroom, red fruit, forest floor, and slightly brett nose. On the palate tremendous fruit quality tastes of red berries, peach, and floral notes end up giving way to herbaceous and leather undertones. Again, thanks @Kyle Harvey for lugging this across the world for the summit! — 9 years ago
Really nice plum and earth subtle toasty oak/ thanks Kyle — 9 years ago
Was an aspirational bottle for me and finally saw one in a shop in Charleston. Pinnacle of Etna wine making. Contender for WOTN but shockingly beat out by the Alsace 🐐. @Kyle Harvey getting live tasting notes via text from the wine maker was quite a flex. #summitIV — 4 years ago

Amy really liked it. Kyle said it was better than so so. Young lots tannins — 9 years ago
Dark cherries v. blackberries and pencil shavings on the nose. Full but refined body. A structured but delicate finish. Paired great with the Catalan meal this evening. First Aalto, hopefully not the last.
Kyle tagged in absentia, but in honor of his love of Spanish wine. — 9 years ago
Kyle really liked it. Gave it a 9.3. Not sure it deserves the extra .3 but it is tasty. Peaches apricot and brioche? — 9 years ago
Straightforward, but no complaints! Nice, balanced, goes well with food, super approachable. Would get it again! — Purchased again, addl note from Kyle, not a by-the-case wine, but a fun once in a while guy that screams out for cheese pairings — 4 years ago

Really interesting - flinty and sour without being citrusy. I liked it quite a bit - Kyle said it was fine. — 5 years ago

Another stunning wine! Probably tied for WOTN. Just an absolutely fantastic GC, and a lesser known producer, but not to be taken lightly. For under $100 you are getting cream of the crop, and something that even at 6 years of age will soldier on and continue to develop for at least the next 10 years. Vibrant and aromatic - crushed clove, fresh pansies, rhubarb, a faint touch of brett to bring the terrior together. Beautiful ruby color, no loss of youth in flavour either - raspberry reduction, nutmeg, dried cranberries, cedar, and a finesse only known to GC Burgundy.
Another special treat to open. Thank you @Kyle Groombridge ! — 8 years ago
10/10 but kyle says only 8.8/10 because it has flaws but tbh he was a little inebriated at the time and honestly it was delicious and drunk with my favorite people so yeah — 9 years ago

Yum! Bought from Bruno onsite. Kyle thinks it’s best with food, I could go with or without. Tannins are Happening. Brick, red fruit, heft. A delight. — 7 months ago
