Actually red… — 3 years ago
Traditional method sparkling rosé made from the mighty Mollard grape native to the Haut Alpes region. Domaine Allemand is responsible for bringing this variety back from the brink of extinction 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Still Mollard is a wonderful thing — natural low in alcohol and light to medium bodied, a cross between Mondeuse and Gamay.
This sparkling is light, dry (0 dosage) and refreshing. Raspberry, red and even some black currant, lavender, and a light touch of pastry. A delight.

Wow, this continues to be one of my favorite Provence rosés, ripe strawberry, cold peach, watermelon rind, damp limestone, white pepper; with +3Y of age we're at peak enjoyment.
On the Lawn at Tanglewood this afternoon with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our conductor Andris Nelsons is leading Julia ADOLPHE (Makeshift Castle), STRAUSS songs with orchestra (Muttertändelei, Opus 43, No. 2 / Wiegenlied, Opus 41, No. 1 / Waldseligkeit, Opus 49. No. 1 / Ruhe, meine Seele, Opus 27, No. 1 / Zueignung, Opus 10, No. 1 / Morgen, Opus 27, No. 4) all voiced by our favorite soprano Renée Fleming, and closing with STRAVINSKY (Petrushka, 1947 version).

In a glorious place. So elegant. More to come. Wet earth and deep red cherries on the nose on a background slab of minerals. Complex spice as well. Palate is so juicy and generous. Luscious, deep fruit with suave, velvety tannins and unreal density without weight. Such a mineral finish. After 16 hours open it’s so juicy, silky and downright decadent. 19 has amazing fruit. — 5 days ago
