Cool stemmy aromas of cranberry, violets, blackberries, mineral undertones, hint of earth. Great concentration and lifted/sour tones at the same time. Ends in a medium+ finish. Beautiful wine. — 4 years ago

Can Franc but big and softer than you'd expect from the Loire. Really good, lots of upfront fruit but the classic cab Franc flinty minerality is there too — 7 years ago

The 2009 “Aux Brulées” pours a deep ruby color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe red fruits: Strawberries, blackberries, red flowers, smoked and spiced meat, minerals and fine wood. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannins and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. I found this to be relatively quiet compared to some of the other bottles we enjoyed on a night of really exceptional wine. I doubt it will be losing steam anytime in the immediate future. Drink now through 2039. — a year ago
