A very nice Chardonnay. Not oaky. Refreshing fruit perfect for summer. June 2020. — 6 years ago
Love the SCM wines! Lexington was recommended by House Family Vineyards (which also has a great CabSauv). This wine had a smooth start, and a nice typical CabFranc bite finish. Very enjoyable! — 8 years ago
13’ Thomas Fogarty Damiana Vineyard Chardonnay.
TASTING NOTES ( From the Winery)
Always our most opulent Chardonnay, Damiana has vivid fruit and buttressed by intense natural acidity. Power and grace.
Orange zest, lemon/lime, hard butterscotch candy, soft creaminess to it. A splash of acid. Needs a 30/ 45 minute decanting. It’s still felt slightly short of what it will be!!
There’s no doubt this will taste better in a year. This is the current release. Will age nicely for another 8/10 years. — 9 years ago

C ink, N blackberry pie, baked stone fruit, currant, T blackberry, subtle tannins, oak, slight baking spice — 10 years ago
One of my go-to California Chards. All the hallmarks I like. Oak notes of vanilla, butterscotch, and brioche toast, but balanced by high acid and minerality. The best of both worlds. — 2 months ago
Thomas Fogarty Winery Walker’s Nebbiolo 2018: Medium-light bodied. Medium acidity. Soft tannins. Red fruit dominate (strawberry, cranberry, raspberry & cherry). White pepper. Dried herbs. Earth. Medium finish. This was a lovely youthful wine; small production & estate grown from above the fog of the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA. Extremely enjoyable and a nice reminder of why I love this grape so much. Nice work on providing this atypical domestic expression of the beautiful Italian Nebbiolo grape variety. A little 831 for a change.
The nose reveals; nicely extracted dark red & blue fruits. Rich, ripe, ruby; blackberries, slightly sour dark cherries, slight stewed, black plum & plum, black raspberries, baked & poached strawberries with dry cranberries. Mixed dark berry cola, red licorice, steeped fruit tea, black licorice, softly layered baking spices; clove, nutmeg, cinnamon & vanilla. Bay leaf, moist clay, limestone minerals, dark chocolate, oak dust, understated, dry crushed rocks, lightly dashed dark spices, just a hint of brett (bandaid/rubber toy), dark, rich, moist earth with dark, red, blue, purple flowers framed in violet fields & wafting lavender.
The body is full, lush, ruby and gorgeous over the palate. The mid palate drops off just a skosh. There is decant tannin presence that’s about 50% resolved. Good now, even better in 3 years. Nicely extracted dark red & blue fruits. Rich, ripe, ruby; blackberries, slightly sour dark cherries, slight stewed, black plum & plum, black raspberries, baked & poached strawberries with dry cranberries. Mixed dark berry cola, red licorice, steeped fruit tea, black licorice, softly layered baking spices; clove, nutmeg, cinnamon & vanilla. Bay leaf, moist clay, limestone minerals, dark chocolate, mocha with caramel, oak dust, understated, dry crushed rocks, dark spices with a punch of palate heat, a little less brett (bandaid/rubber toy) on the palate, some grilled meats, dry tobacco, oak shavings, dark, rich, moist earth with dark, red, blue, purple flowers framed in violet fields & wafting lavender. The acidity is round & voluptuous. The long finish is; round, rich, ripe, well balanced, heavenly floral with a nice mid earthiness ending in deep spice.

2011 Sine Qua Non Estate Grenache “Patine” from Manfred’s Eleven Confessions Vineyard. Opened this in Lexington a couple of weekends ago after about a four hour decant. Poured into a really bad wine glass in a really great hotel. Why does that always seem to be the case? Seems to be the case even in some 5 star restaurants. No? But I digress. (Apparently, I need to start traveling with my Zalto). Perfumed notes of white flowers and fresh berries. On the palate, mocha, plums and dark berry fruit turned up to 11. Notes of fresh cut herbs, spice rack and white pepper. Typical SQN endless finish. Exquisite acidity. Beautifully layered and wonderfully concentrated. This wine has an elegant, femininity about it. I’ve always sort of thought of SQN Grenache as feminine in character, I guess as opposed to Manfred’s rather muscle-bound Syrah. Although more than enjoyable now, I’ve gotta believe that it will only get better with some cellar time. — 9 years ago

Medium acidity, medium to low tannins, fruity bouquet, dry on the palate. Juicy. — 7 years ago
In a blind tasting, I might have mistaken the delicate lightness for Oregon. Nice acid and tannin on the finish. Elegant. — 9 years ago
Don't know another Cali chard that has the degree of Burgundian-ness that this guy has. Oak is present but just enough for texture and complexity. Mineral and bright bright fruits....oh and acid. A ton of stuff you don't find in Napa/Carneros. Fuckin great wine! !! — 10 years ago

This Cab, blending with 14% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot, is rich and powerful but with good balancing structure.
The nose shows ripe blackberry and blueberry, casssi, cedar, incense, and light dried herbs. Full bodied, the palate has a luxury feel with cool vibe. Quite primary, and tannins still need time to soften. But very delicious now. — 3 days ago
