Lovely cab franc. Wow. — 7 years ago
Clove, anise, allspice, fennel seed, cherry skins, plumflesh, topsoil, corn chips, toasted seeds, sage brush, manzanita berries, manzanita berries, and manzanita berries! Unreal balance and poise, savory yet fresh. Black tea, espresso and chili flake dry rub. Layers on layers of complexity. You won’t get tired of looking for new threads of flavor. Has decades to go, still youthful at 14 years old. — 7 years ago

Cooper and I enjoyed this wine at Blackbird in Manzanita, OR. We had a fabulous dinner including flat iron steak, and this Tempranillo was a perfect compliment. Cherry, leather, tobacco, slightly sweet but not overdone, and very smooth. Cooper LOVED this one! — 11 years ago
If the wine says it’s from Rockpile, get it. . . Or I will! Was introduced to this region a decade ago and love the wines. For a 15.3% alcohol, this felt lighter, almost 2-3% less. Flavors are blending well, still has a strong fruit forward but the jammy sensation has tempered. Color starting to change slightly. This may have several more years and glad I have more bottles. — 3 years ago
Mixed ripe black cherry and currant with some edges of purple fruit, quite rich and coating. Backed by very mineral notes of iron, chaparral, bay, leather and savory meat. The palate has considerable flesh to it, muscular with some roundness in shape to finesse it out. Somewhere between Tychson and Cariad in concentration. Again lovey terroir notes of chaparral/manzanita, bay, hung beef, leather, cigar box and espresso. The alcohol is present here, on the finish. Notes from 9.7.18 — 7 years ago

I love this Freigeist Charred Manzanita Ale from Fort Point. — 10 years ago
To me it is a little more sweet than I'm used to for Sonoma County Zin, tastes a bit more like Lodi. If $10, a steal. If $15, maybe just ok. — 10 years ago

Purchased at winery in Montepulciano, September 2016. Enjoyed at Manzanita, OR 11/26/2016. Such a delicious wine with such a splendid memory. Heavy notes of tart cherry, iron, tobacco on the nose. Velvety mouth feel. Tastes of tart cherry, iron, cedar, leather, charcoal smoke. A super, Super Tuscan. — 10 years ago

Sipping Fine Wine
Medium lemon color, aromas of stone and citrus fruits with floral, honey and mineral notes. On the palate flavors of apple, peach and pear with citrus and floral wrapped in a nutty vanilla spice. Medium+ finish, lively acidity, ending with fruit, toasty oak, spice and savory citrus character. — a year ago
