Deep purple with slight orange aura. High alcohol at 14.5%. Cassis, leather, clay on the nose. Flavours of dark plum, cigar, and cassis. Peppery and savoury. Medium body with cigar length. Refined and soft tannins. Give me a steak! AU$40 from Dan Murphy — 3 years ago
dry wine and strong finish — 5 years ago
Initial aromas of cedar box, fruit and nut chocolate and a herbal nuance. With air a note of violet after about 2 hours. On the medium to full bodied palate absolutely fluid and seamless with that berry and dark chocolate note but largely restrained. Such perfect balance that nothing really jumps out. From my limited experience with Napa Valley Cabernets I have always thought that Dominus is the most Bordeaux like of these Cabs. Not surprising when you know the owner Christian Moueix is the owner of Petrus and other right bank icons. Linda Murphy for Jancis said “Could be Christian Moueix’s best Dominus.” — 6 years ago

This is not an amazing wine... but for the price at Dan Murphy, it is pretty dam amazing — 8 years ago

Smells bright and jammy. Pleasant flavor (love) but a bit thin. Good for the price! Having with steak frites in Denver. 🗻 — 8 months ago
One of my favorite affordable cabs off all time — 5 years ago
Woowowowow never have I drunk a more tantalizing, elegant yet funky Chardonnay. Tangerine, wild herbs, Meyer lemon fall into a racy acidity full of saline bliss and musty basement vibes. — 6 years ago
Not nearly the syrupy fruit bomb you might expect from a zin. The fruit played second fiddle to a delightful earthy component, all delivered in a super smooth package. I thought it would pair well with a steak, but it ended up being better as a sipping wine after dinner. — 8 years ago
