Medium lemon straw . Fine and consistent perlage . Quite yeasty and autolytic in character with brown bread , followed by lemon peel and camomile , elderflower . On the palate quite dry and austere at first , those brown bread yeasty notes coming through with citrus and a hint of ginger. Quite long and with good acidic backbone , and mouth-filling presence on the palate . Very good now , though like the Tillington single vineyard from this vintage , absolutely no rush . Now and over the next 5 to even 10 years . — 3 years ago

What I've been hearing about English sparkling wine is true, based on this sample. Creamy mousse, soft bubbles. Licorice. Apples. White peach. — 10 years ago
fabulous. — 7 months ago
As remembered. A balanced fresh bubbly that’s a good value. Bought by MO as part of a case to test aging. A fresh young counterpoint to the 2015 Nyetimber bubbly. — 2 years ago
Lots of bubbles , smooth finish, zero bite — 6 years ago
At the home of Dean and Margy Glasgow who have a share in Digby. Very similar to a good French Champagne and compared to Nyetimber. Bready aromas with Citrus. Good intensity and length developing complexity at 9 years. Very impressive. — 7 years ago
The wine is clear and bright with a medium lemon colour.
The nose is clean and fully developed, showing medium+ intensity aromas of lemon peel, rye bread, brioche, green apple and hints of honey.
The wine is medium-sweet, with a high well-integrated acidity. It has a medium alcohol and a medium+ body. It has medium+ intensity flavours and a medium finish.
It is a very good quality wine. Demi-sec are not my style, but it has a wonderful balance between acidity and sweetness, and it shows a quite decent complexity provided by autolytic and maturity notes. However it is a bit short. — 11 years ago
NY timber great English sparkling wine but tbh I think I prefer the original — a year ago
Not as dry as Prosecco, very tasty — 3 years ago
A little mystery behind this twelve year-old English sparkling bottled by supermarket Morrisons, produced by ‘Rolling Green Hills Ltd’ who are believed to be Nyetimber. So, for £20, how does this wine made by the UK’s best stand up?
Pretty darn well.
The nose is a dead ringer for Champagne, not that that should be its goal, but I would definitely pin this as such rather than English had I tasted blind. Quite rounded on the nose, with plentiful aromas of toasted brioche, yellow apple, pear and burnt butter. The palate is open and generous, fat and buttery, and it glides through to a satisfying finish with great balance.
I have to say, this is incredibly impressive stuff given the context. Highly recommended!

Peach fruit cup. Very reminiscent of Ultramarine Rose... or vice versa — 8 years ago
Thanksgiving day two 11/25/17. Blind tasting vs KS and Nyetimber. Ranked as equal to KS on day one but better on day two. — 9 years ago
Nyetimber's first ever vintage. Never thought I'd taste English wine this good or this old. — 12 years ago
