Trying out Stanford Wine Class. Pulled out three Pinots to taste test. I *loved* the old Kistler Pinots with their dark color, thick jammy viscosity and forest floor notes. The shift towards a lighter more typical Pinot while nice just doesn't make me go wow. It's nice but just that. — 9 years ago

Nice tannin — 6 years ago
Medium Ruby with rich sweet red fruit aromas and herb spice notes on on this beauty from Steve Kistler. On the palate a rich full flavor of blackberry and cherry with cinnamon spice, oak and fine tannins. Crisp acidity, good balance, long ending with slight earthy character. Very Nice! Tasting well, enjoy over next decade! — 6 years ago
Cola, mineral, light cherry overtones. Delicious. Ready to go after 5 years, could go a little longer. Label: Occidental SWK Vineyard 2012 14.1% ABV. # S01079 — 9 years ago
I bought this after reading princeofpinot review; my first experience with this wine. Lately I have been drinking Kistler/ Occidental, Marcassin, Aubert and a few random Calera pinots and the Suduri was a bit different in character; seemed more burgundian in style. Was elegant, but less fruit forward than Kistler et.al , more restrained? Reminded me of a few Rochhioli West Blocks and early Williams Selyem from years gone by. A very nice pinot at any price point and I wish I had more of it. — 11 years ago
This was really something. From vines planted by Steve Kistler 30 years ago in northern Sonoma coast and near some other heavy hitting sites. Manages the neat trick of intensity without heaviness. Redolent of small berries and ocean breeze, bursting with black cherry, strawberry and rhubarb, dried flowers and spice with a whole cluster herbal quality. Was a little afraid I’d jumped the gun but nah this is ready — 6 years ago
Stanford Sierra camp 2016, right after 2011 Kistler Occidental. — 10 years ago
After having Bevan Cellar SB we had to make this a BEVAN NIGHT! Did it Done it! Wow we were not disappointed this 1 st time for me Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2013 rivals my Kistler Occidental and J Rochioli Single vineyard Pinots! WOW! Where did Mr Bevan come from . I was lucky to buy 2 bottles of this Awesome Wine. I should search out and buy more Before I post this But this has rich full body, layers of fruit and bright acidity with just the right suppleness. TO Many Words... Pork Loin yes (was great) wine was better! Very Impressive ! Give this 96-97 Rating now and with 2-3 years of bottle age who knows 99-100 maybe??? You decide .
