Light on the palate, acidic, silky tannins. Hints of gooseberry, herbs and leather — 5 months ago
Really a wonderful barbaresco riserva. Should have bought more than one bottle. Lots of sediment, so a decant is in order. Wonderfully deep nose, so velvety on the palate. Nice long finish. Just enough refreshing acid too - could have used a smidge more but still very nice. Great pairing with Allen brothers duroc pork chops. — 3 years ago
Drinking beautifully. Just what one should expect from a 2013 Barolo from Perno. Color, balance, fruit to tannan, freshness, sipping and strength to food. — 6 years ago
The Giovanni Sordo holdings in the Gabutti MGA are directly west and northwest of Cappellano’s. They have been bottling a single-vineyard expression of Gabutti since 1982.
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2021 “Gabutti” pours a beautiful ruby color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with lovely notes of Morello cherry, orange peel, a room of freshly cut roses, talcum powder, some cedar and dry organic earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose though, it took about 30min of air to reflect that continuity. The finish is long. This is quite a lovely wine; I’m impressed! Silly value. Drink now with patience through 2046+. — 9 days ago

Great for its youthfulness. Would benefit from another year or two in the cellar. — 7 months ago
Village Barbaresco (100% Nebbiolo) from various vineyards - including fruit from the prestigious Ovello, Montestefano and Rio Sordo crus. Perfumed and ethereal, quite fruit-forward on the nose with aromas of cherry, rose petal, pine needles and earthy notes and a whiff of tar. Juicy, slightly rustic on the palate with flavors of crunchy red fruit (cherry, cranberry), licorice. Quite dry, slightly harsh tannins (drinking this very young). High acidity. Pairs great with mushrooms — 5 years ago
Costco buy. $30, WS 93. 2 hour decant. Medium bodied, smooth, ripe cherry on nose & palate, with menthol/eucalyptus kick on the finish. Very enjoyable. — 6 years ago
Плотное, с умеренной кислотностью, нетанинное, очень приличное. Запах землистый, пыльно-шоколадный. Ровное и спокойное, свежее из-за кислотности. — 6 years ago

I had this in February, and the tannins seemed to be smoothing out, so I opened another bottle to pair with mushroom risotto. Unfortunately the tannins are still a bit too much for risotto. This needs braised meats or ribeye. Still, this is really tasty, and the tannins are drying on the palate but manageable if paired right. On the nose, inviting notes of dark cherry, tar, anise, and cloves. The flavors come through on the palate, with a beautiful cherry spice dominating. Long finish with mushroom and balsamic flavors accompanying the cherry and spice. Super tasty. — 3 days ago
