Okay...I admit it..,when I think of red-check table-cloth Italian (pizza, pasta, Stromboli, calzone, etc.) I almost invariably reach for a young, vibrant Zinfandel. And Carlisle does it better than most. Dark, juicy, acid-driven, soft and packing enough alcohol to bring a smile. And this very young, screw-topped Dry Creek wine ticks all the boxes. “Crush me! Now!” It cries. Okay. And a bottle is never enough for two. Yummy and guilt-proof. — 6 years ago

This is a great blend. Went well with the cheese pizza and the calzone we had. Would feel very fortunate to find at $ 20 and would buy s case in a heartbeat for that price. — 10 years ago

Not a wine to have alone -- earthy, rosey, tar like. Medium tannin, good acid. Great with food. Transformed with a calzone. Mine was only $17 so it was a great value. — 11 years ago
