Torre Zambia Pecorino “Poggio Salaia” 2021: Clean. Bright. Balanced. Notes of lemon, orange & lychee. Soft minerality & a crisp, dry finish. Made with 100% Pecorino grapes from the Abruzzo region of Italy, this is the perfect wine for enjoying as an aperitivo or with a meal. For me, this would pair perfectly with fish, cheeses or white meats! Let’s not forget to mention: It’s sustainable. It’s organic. It’s vegan. Cheers🍷 — 4 years ago

Very pleasant Pinot Noir fermented and aged in terracotta amphorae. Smell of small red fruits it’s very juicy on the palate with good acidity and freshness. — 4 years ago
Single vineyard 100% Sangiovese, this 13’ Chianti Classical Riserva displays
fragrant nose of sour cherry, strawberry, thyme, balsamic, incense, hint of violet and barnyard. Great fruit intensity on the palate with lots of earthy nuances. High yet round acidity. Polished grippy tannins lead to an elegant long finish.
This would stand tall to a lot of BdM. — 4 years ago
Delicious! Dark chocolate, blackberry, black currant, a little spicy and sweet. WS northern Italy tasting. — 4 years ago

From a double-magnum. The 2012 “Il Carbonaione” pours a deep garnet color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing and initially reticent. After almost an hour of air, the bouquet emerged to reveal some funky cherry, red flowers, bergamot, horse blanket, green herbs, old wood and dry earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+. After plenty of air, this became really tasty stuff but the large format has really retarded the aging process. Similar bottles likely need well into the next decade to enter the zone. Killer with food. — 12 days ago
