Very refined Champagne, before dinner with friends in Amherst, MA — 8 months ago
Sonoma Valley Sparkling project of this exceptional Champagne House. 96% Chardonnay and 4% Pinot Noir. Bright golden color. Aromas and flavors of ripe apples, apricots, pears, white flowers, marzipan, lemon zest and a nice hint of pastry dough. Quite fruit forward with a very soft texture. A fine and consistent bead of bubbles. Quite the crowd pleaser. Outstanding value for this quality. — 2 years ago
We popped this British beauty to help celebrate a friends birthday from afar and boy was it a delight to drink.
We were kindly sent this sample bottle from Pommery to help celebrate their first British sparkling wine! They’re the first Champagne house to produce an English fizz and wow, I was impressed!
In fact I’d drink it over a few of the big brand NV Champagnes. That’s how well it went down! At approximately $89 a pop I definitely would expect that.
The grapes 🍇 are grown in Hampshire, Southern England and it’s made from the classic champagne grapes with the majority being Chardonnay. It’s Pommery in style from English terroir.
In the glass it’s a brilliant morning sunshine hue. The nose is super fresh with yellow orchard fruits and citrus however it also made me think of vanilla honey on crumpets. The palate is smooth and perfectly rounded. My oh my it’s divine.

A blend of about 40 crus from the Champagne region, with Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and about one-third Chardonnay, aged for almost 3 years. Fresh vibrant champagne, fruit/floral bouquet, w/chalky minerals. Fine bubbles, nice mousse, showing quality. Outstanding rich flavors of peach, lemon and honey, well balanced, good structure, creamy. Finish with yeast & mineral notes that lingered. Very consistent quality. — 2 months ago
Pleasant sparkling rose with initial strawberry notes making way for orange, dried apricot, and florals dominating on palate and finish. The floral notes shined through beautifully when paired with mushroom risotto. Has good acidity and freshness that will help this pair well with a lot of foods, but makes for a pleasant aperitif as well. Also has a good minerality that provides balance, and a nice finish as well. — 5 months ago
This wine colors up a pale yellow-green in the glass, with plenty of frothy white bubbles. The nose is full of pears and apples. On the palate, citrus and toast dominate, while the acidity tingles. Aperitif? Sure. Pair it with potato chips? Why not? Cheese plate, salami, birthday cake? Yes, yes, if you must.

This really captures the tension and brilliance of the 2008 vintage. Prior notes applied.
Long, graceful, and finely tuned, glorious life is still ahead. But I’m down to my last bottle.
Remarkably, the current vintage release from Pommery is 2009. Looks to be a great buy as well. — 8 months ago

Light gold with hints of pale green to the edges, the nose on this is very fresh and somewhat vegetal, with notes fresh cold celery alongside the hints of green papaya , baked Citroen tart, and wet river stone. Lots of good tight bubbles, a light to medium body and a real energetic, mineral freshness over a palate of tart yellow stone fruits, a slight yeasty, baked note, but very subtle, mostly mineral and the crisp fruit. Very nice! — a month ago
