Full bodied dry but not the kind of dry that makes your mouth feel dry. Blackberries, dark fruit. Kind of heavy on the tongue. Could benefit from a decanter — 5 months ago
My liquor store guy gave me this and asked me to rate it. Portugal isn't my wheelhouse, but free wine is...
This is a blend of Syrah, Castelão, and Tinta Roriz grapes. Bright ruby color. Syrah defines the nose with muted red fruit and some spice. It's a very light-bodied wine with flavors of cherry, strawberry, violets, and a quick mineral finish. Very pleasing; I could see this being a nice alternative to Gamay at a pizza party. And it's cheap, I think my guy is doing it for $12, and he's usually priced a little high. It's a shame summer is ending- this is a light, refreshing red. I would love to know what some of you seasoned veterans think. Come grab a glass!
